Dexter actress Courtney Ford has fled the Miami set of the Showtime series in favor of terrorizing the Bon Temps swamps of True Blood for the vampire show's fourth season.
Deadline reports that Ford is set to join the cast in a recurring capacity as Portia Bellefleur, described as "a classic Southern beauty who runs her own law practice." She's the sister of Bon Temps' alcoholic "hero" cop Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), and given Andy's connection to Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), it can't be long before Portia herself crosses paths -- and swaps spit -- with the dimwitted Stackhouse brother.
Ford had a yearlong arc on the fourth season of Dexter as a Miami news reporter with unexpected ties to a murder case. She was also featured in an early episode of the Mark Valley-starring Human Target. The actress is the second hire for True Blood's fourth season, following on the heels of Irish actress Fiona Shaw signing on as Marnie, a self-loathing psychic who becomes possessed by a witch.
