Devil’s Due Announces A Helping Hand For Publishers

Official Press Release

Chicago, IL – March 14, 2006 – In celebration of the release of Josh Blaylock’s HOW TO SELF PUBLISH COMICS… NOT JUST CREATE THEM (DEC052950), Devil’s Due Publishing announces the Make a Comic With Josh Blaylock Contest!

The consultation consists of 1/2-hour phone calls once a week for two months, as the winner builds an infrastructure, establishes a marketing plan, and sends that first comic book off to the press. Preliminary and follow-up phone calls and emails will be arranged to make the most of the two-month consultation period.

ABOUT HOW TO SELF PUBLISH COMICS: NOT JUST CREATE THEM #1 (of 4) (DEC052950) – A lot of articles are written on the creative process of comics, but few on the other side of the business: publishing. After ten years of self-publishing, Josh Blaylock has gone from back room small press exhibitor to the head of a top-ten comic book company. He now shares his knowledge of the industry with anyone who has ever pondered doing the same. This six issue prose series is informative, entertaining, and a bit autobiographical. Blaylock isolates the most important aspects of the process, starting with “Building Your Infrastructure.”

HOW TO SELF PUBLISH COMICS: NOT JUST CREATE THEM #1(of 4) (DEC052950) is on comic and specialty stores’ shelves now, and monthly hereafter. For information on the Make a Comic With Josh Blaylock Contest and more, visit, or

Today, DDP’s lineup includes Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, G.I. Joe: America’s Elite, eigoManga, Hack/Slash, Capcom’s Killer 7, the newly resurrected Chaos! Comics!, and indy comics’ magazine Lo-Fi.
