A new teaser for the upcoming Detective Pikachu film, which stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular character, reveals some previously unseen footage from the movie.
Although the clip is short and mostly mashes up previously seen footage, there are a few new bits. The teaser, which premiered at the NFC Championship game, gives an additional look at Snubbull and shows Mr. Mime dancing. However, the centerpiece of the new footage is, of course, the fart joke delivered by Detective Pikachu at the end of the clip.
When former Pokemon trainer Tim arrives in Ryme City to learn what became of his father, he teams up with Detective Pikachu to discover an even larger threat endangering the entire world. Detective Pikachu had reportedly been partners with Tim's father, Harry, before his disappearance, with his son as the only human that can actually understand the electric-powered Pokemon.
There are reports that Warner Bros. is already looking into the possibility of making a sequel to Detective Pikachu, though those plans will likely depend on how the movie fares at the box office.
Directed by Rob Letterman, Detective Pikachu stars Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe and the voice of Ryan Reynolds. The film opens in theaters on May 10.
