Scarlet Bullet, the latest film in the Detective Conan series, has been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

"Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, we have decided to postpone the release date of Detective Conan Scarlet Bullet, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, April 17, 2020," the film's website revealed. "We sincerely apologize to all those who have been waiting for the release of the work. Please note that the advanced tickets you have purchased can also be used after the postponement, so please take them with you."

Gosho Aoyama's Detective Conan launched in 1994 and is serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday. As of December 2019, the series has 97 volumes, making it one of the longest-running mangas of all time. The series follows Shinichi Kudo, a teenage detective who's turned into a child by a mysterious organization. Taking on the name Conan Edogawa, he solves crimes and tries to hunt down the organization and the cure.

An anime adaptation called Case Closed debuted in 1996 and over 900 episodes have aired in Japan. There have also been 23 feature films, which began releasing every April starting in 1997.

At the time of this writing, Detective Conan: Scarlet Bullet has yet to receive an updated release date.
