With a new season of Destiny 2 inbound, players can expect some of their weapons and armor to be sunset as part of Bungie's new system of retiring gear. Here's what's getting sunset when Season of the Chosen starts on February 9.

When Season 12 -- Season of the Hunt -- ends, 21 Legendary weapons and an armor set will no longer be obtainable or able to have their light level increased past a certain threshold. This process doesn't remove the items from the game, but instead makes them nearly unusable in high-level and endgame content.

Destiny 2 players will have some rather large holes in their weapon pool after Season of the Hunt. With the already limited current loot pool and more weapons becoming nonviable, some players may struggle to find replacements. Luckily, Reddit user JLoco11PSN user broke down some of the guns being sunset and offered potential replacements. Most notably, players will miss out on the only Arc Auto-Rifle in the game, Uriel's Gift, as well as the only Void Sniper Rifle, Trophy Hunter.

There's also going to be only one option in-game for Linear Fusion Rifles after Season of the Chosen begins. Line in the Sand and Komodo will both be sunset, leaving only Corsair's Wrath. Breachlight, a Sidearm, and Python, an Aggressive-Frame Shotgun, are also both on their way out with no suitable replacements.

On top of some of these popular weapon sunsets, more are being soft-removed from Destiny 2. The list includes Steelfeather Repeater, Patron of Lost Causes, Infinite Paths 8, Jack Queen King 3, Martyr's Retribution, Perfect Paradox, Gallant Charge, Traveler's Judgement 5, Pyroclastic Flow, Buzzard, Last Hope, Old Fashioned, Elatha FR4, Hawthorne's Field-Forged Shotgun and Mos Epoch. In total, 21 weapons will be sunset at the start of Season 13.

As far as armor goes, the Righteous Armor set will be sunset. Initially obtained During the Season of Dawn, the armor could be obtained through the Season Pass or by running the season-specific activity with some luck on your side. The armor's soon-to-be irrelevance is sure to irk some players, as it was a difficult set to farm desired rolls and made players look a little more like everyone's favorite Titan, Saint-14.

As the loot pool continues to shrink in Destiny 2 and few weapons are being added to recoup the loss, players will soon begin to find their options for an ideal loadout disappear. Bungie has noted that it is aware that players are discontent with how gear is being handled, and that it is looking into possible solutions. However, this comes as more equipment is trimmed off with the arrival of a new season.
