Having the right Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 can make or break a Guardian, trivializing some of the most challenging encounters with unique effects and colossal damage potential. Though there are many different choices, as of Season of the Lost, the Exotic weapon to use is the One Thousand Voices fusion rifle. The gun lets loose a charged, explosive beam of death with each shot and is incredibly simple to use. In theory, one Thousand Voices is relatively easy to obtain, but it'll require a team of coordinated Guardians and a little luck on the player's side.

One Thousand Voices went from overshadowed to one of the top damage dealers in player's arsenals when Bungie released Season of the Lost. The season introduced several changes to fusion rifles, buffing them and diversifying the unique weapon frames among the guns. This coincided with new seasonal armor mods that further increased fusion rifle viability. After experimenting with Sunsetting, Bungie has taken to changing up Destiny 2's meta like this on a seasonal basis. Here's how to get One Thousand Voices and decimate foes until The Witch Queen's release.

How To Get One Thousand Voices

Destiny 2 One Thousand Voices

Unlike some other Exotic weapons that can be purchased in the Tower from the Monument to Lost Lights, players can only earn this Exotic fusion rifle from a Raid. Players will need to own the Forsaken expansion to obtain One Thousand Voices. If they want a shot at the gun, Guardians must enter the Dreaming City and complete the Last Wish Raid. The fusion rifle is a potential reward from the final encounter, but the encounter has stumped Fireteams before. It's easy to think the Raid is complete after defeating the giant wish dragon, Riven; however, one more challenge awaits -- and it's a relay race.

Once the last Ahamkara is defeated, players must venture into the beast's mouth and make their way to its heart. After they've found the vital organ and given it a proper beating, the next task will be to bring the heart back to the Vault Room visited earlier in Last Wish. The catch is that Riven doesn't want Guardians to accomplish this and will try to impede them by warping whomsoever carries the heart inside it. Players will have to rush the heart to the Throne Room, a new Guardian picking up the organ when the previous bearer is spirited away.

Players who are warped inside the heart will have to contend with swarms of enemies but have an opportunity to aid their allies. As the Riven gets ready to warp another inside, orbs of Taken Strength will appear for those already trapped to collect. If the trapped Guardians collect all the orbs, the player holding the heart resets their countdown to be teleported in. Wise players will coordinate when the orbs are collected, maximizing the time each player can carry the heart before being warped inside.

If the Fireteam is successful in running the heart back to the Throne Room, they'll be able to dunk it to complete the encounter and finish the Raid. At this point, Guardians will choose one from the available chests that have appeared in the room. There's no trick here, just luck. One Thousand Voices is one of a handful of rewards players can receive at the end of Last Wish, so it's unlikely to be won after a single run. That said, players can complete the Raid as many times as they'd like to and can even wish their way right to Riven.

How To Use One Thousand Voices

Destiny 2 One Thousand Voices Used On Enemies

One Thousand Voices was already a powerhouse before Season of the Lost, but it's now definitively one of the best weapons in the game. The weapon has two perks that make it as dangerous as it is: Ahamkara's Eye and Unforeseen Repercussions. Ahamkara's Eye makes the weapon release a "giant continuous beam of death," while Unforeseen Repercussions causes delayed explosions on targets. In essence, Guardians can "paint" their enemies with the beam and seconds later watch them become engulfed in successive blasts. Just be careful,  players can blow themselves up if they're too close to the explosions.

Season of the Lost introduced two notable armor mods that work well with One Thousand Voices. The first is Particle Deconstruction, and the other is Focusing Lens. Particle Deconstruction is pretty straightforward. After damaging an enemy with a fusion rifle or linear fusion rifle, the enemy takes more damage from fusion rifles and linear fusion rifles. It can stack up to five times, so a whole Fireteam with this mod can do some real damage.

Focusing Lens may not seem immediately useful, as it increases damage from Light-based abilities on Stasis afflicted enemies. However, keep in mind that a Warlock's Well of Radiance Super converts all damage from those inside it into Super damage. For a Raid Fireteam, it would just take one Hunter's Silence and Squall coupled with a Warlock's Well of Radiance to make this work. Combined with the damage increase from Particle Deconstruction, players will find few bosses can withstand the sheer overwhelming damage output.

One Thousand Voices is the weapon to have right now, and every player should prioritize getting their hands on it. Unfortunately, there's no guaranteed way to receive the weapon in a timely manner, but players will go through one of Destiny 2's best Raid with each attempt they make. Shortcuts like Wish 7 will help make the process easier, but it may still take a few shots before players get lucky. That said, atomizing foes with One Thousand Voices is a highly satisfying payoff.
