Sony Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures have released a new trailer for "The Magnificent Seven" that's equal parts action and humor -- with stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt taking care of both.

Director Antoine Fuqua's remake of the 1960 Western classic stars Washington as Sam Chisolm, who’s hired to rescue a small town from the deadly control of a ruthless industrialist (Peter Sarsgaard). For help, he rounds up six outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns: Josh Farraday (Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). However, as they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.

Written by Nic Pizzolatto and Richard Wenk, the film also stars Haley Bennett, Matt Bomer, Billy Slaughter and Vinnie Jones. “The Magnificent Seven” opens Sept. 23.
