Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis are heading west in an unnamed CBS pilot set in 1960s Las Vegas, Variety reports. The show focuses on real-life sheriff Ralph Lamb (played by Quaid), who used to be a rodeo cowboy in the rodeo before becoming Sin City's top lawman. Chiklis plays Johnny Savino, a mobster who runs up against Lamb.

The show has a pretty impressive pedigree behind it, with creators like Greg Walker, who wrote and produced on Smallville and Without a Trace, and Nicholas Pileggi, who penned the books and screenplays for Casino and Goodfellas. The pilot even scored director James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Cop Land, The Wolverine).
