Chainsaw Man Part 2 wil debut on Shonen Jump+ on July 13.

The official Shonen Jump+ Twitter account announced on June 20 that the long-awaited second act of Tatsuki Fujimoto's acclaimed Chainsaw Man manga will make its debut early next month. Assistant editor Yuta Momiyama followed up that announced by confirming on their personal Twitter account that the series' new continuation would also be available on MANGA PLUS service in English, Spanish, French, Thai and Portuguese.

Chainsaw Man originally premiered in the pages of the print edition of Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. Despite presenting more surreal and graphic content than the usual series that are usually serialized within the popular magazine, Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga quickly became one of the publication's most critically-acclaimed titles, and developed a strong cult following that propelled the manga to a global circulation of over 12 million copies. The first part of the series, now known as the Public Safety Arc, came to a conclusion in late 2020. The manga has been on hiatus ever since then, with Fujimoto releasing several unrelated one-off stories, such as the similarly lauded Look Back, since then.

Part 2 will see the series make the jump from the print magazine over to Shonen Jump+, the brand's digital manga platform. The service serialized one of Fujimoto's earlier hits, Fire Punch, and has substantially grown in popularity since it originally launched in 2014. Several of Shonen Jump's biggest new hits of the last several years, including Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8 and Dandadan, were originally released as exclusives for the service. Ayakashi Triangle, another popular manga that began in the brand's print magazine, was also recently moved onto the digital distribution platform.

Chainsaw Man tells the story of Denji, a kind but somewhat gullible young man who lives in an alternate timeline where humans live side-by-side with devils, which are creatures born from the fears of humanity. After being brutally murdered by the criminals he was working for, Denji makes a pact with a small chainsaw demon; in addition to giving him a second chance at life, the pact also allows him to transform into a half-human, half-demon creature with chainsaws for arms and a head. Soon after being reborn, he is recruited into the Public Safety Devil Hunters, a government organization that hunts down devils who have become a threat to humanity.

An anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man from studio MAPPA (Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Jujutsu Kaisen) is set to debut later this year. The manga is available in both print and digital formats from VIZ Media.
