Studio Ufotable released its first trailer for the upcoming third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, which will adapt the highly-anticipated "Swordsmith Village" arc.

The all-new trailer provides fans with a first look into main character Tanjiro Kamado's next action-packed adventure, which spans chapters 100 to 127 of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga. The sneak peek opens with a recap of all the previous events of the anime, laying out clips of the most iconic scenes on a scroll for each season. When the camera pans to the end of the last scroll, featuring moments from the anime's most recent arc, the "Entertainment District" arc, a new blank scroll unfurls, signifying that Tanjiro's journey is not over yet. The trailer then closes with never-before-seen footage from the upcoming season that depicts Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and the making of Tanjiro's new sword.

The newest season will see Tanjiro traveling to the famous Swordsmith Village to replace his sword after Hotaru Haganezuka, Demon Slayer Corps' swordsmith, becomes tired of fixing the blade. Muichiro and Mitsuri will be heavily featured in the upcoming arc after only being minor players in the story thus far. Fans will also be able to enjoy the return of the series' core cast, as Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibara will all join Tanjiro in his next quest.

Koyoharu Gotoge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba takes place in an alternate Taisho-era Japan plagued by demons, ruthless former humans who have relinquished their humanity in exchange for supernatural powers like super strength, magic and regeneration. Tanjiro Kamado witnesses the brutality of these creatures firsthand after his entire family is killed by one of these demons, and although his younger sister Nezuko manages to survive, she does not come out of the attack unscathed as she is turned into a demon herself.

Driven by his determination to find a way to restore Nezuko's humanity, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Survey Corps, an organization hellbent on eradicating all demons. With new skills and weapons under his belt, Tanjiro travels far and wide to find Nezuko a cure, while also hunting down the demon responsible for the death of his family.

It has yet to be confirmed when Season 3 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will premiere. Seasons 1 and 2 of the anime are available to stream now on Funimation, Hulu and Crunchyroll, along with the first season's sequel film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.
