Tanjiro utilizes the most powerful breathing style in an eye-catching new Demon Slayer figure.

As seen on Aniplex's official website, the elaborately named "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado Hinokami Kagura Clear Blue Sky" statue represents the young swordsman in a 1:8th scale as he performs the Clear Blue Sky, a powerful circular slashing attack that is one of the trademark techniques of the rare and powerful Sun Breathing style. The figure recreates an iconic scene from the series, when Tanjiro uses the attack against the Twelve Moon demon Enmu. The collectible is now available for pre-order at a variety of retailers, including Tokyo Otaku Mode, Crunchyroll's online story, and Entertainment Earth. The figure has a suggested retail price of $314.98, but as with many imported Japanese scale figures, the price may vary by retailer.

Demon Slayer fans with money to burn can also pick up the figure's companion piece, a 1:8th scale figure of the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku unleashing the the Fire Breathing style's Ninth Form. This statue is also available for preorder with a suggested retail price of $314.98, and depicts the beloved Hashira during his climactic battle with the demon Akaza. Distributor Aniplex says the Tanjiro figure will be released in Japan next November, while Rengoku will arrive in the following month. While both figures certainly aren't cheap, they are a fair bit more affordable than the $2,969.99 1/4 scale Flame Hashira figure that went up for pre-order through Good Smile Company in early December.

Both figures are based on scenes from the Mugen Train arc, which was adapted into the franchise's first movie. The Mugen Train movie shattered box office records when it was released in 2020, becoming not only the highest grossing anime movie of all time, but the highest grossing movie in Japan ever. The film has continued to rake in money with its home video release, which sold a combined total of 1 million copies on DVD and Blu-ray in Japan within its first month of release. The movie was also edited into the first seven episodes of the TV series' second season. While these episodes were mostly made using recut footage from the movie, animation studio Ufotable added 70 newly animated scenes to encourage fans to give the arc another rewatch.

Tanjiro will undoubtedly need to use the Sun Breathing style again in the anime series' current storyline, which is an adaptation of the manga's well-regarded Entertainment District arc. The new arc will reportedly comprise the rest of the second season and sees Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke teaming up with the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui to stop another Twelve Moon demon. The second season is currently being simulcast by Crunchyroll and Funimation.
