Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba's "Swordsmith Village" arc announces the premiere date for its English dub.

Crunchyroll has officially revealed that the English dub of the show's third season will be released on May 28, 2023. It is set to come out at 9:30 p.m. BST -- which is 1:30 p.m. PST and 3:30 p.m. EST. Each subsequent English dubbed chapter will be unveiled weekly on Sundays after the premiere of the hour-long first episode. The original Japanese series will continue toward its finale as it has been in the previous month.

Demon Slayer's Ongoing Manga

Demon Slayer, based on the manga written by Koyoharu Gotogue, began its third season on April 9, 2023. The latest installment of the hit Shōnen series opened with an hour-long special establishing the new location and the demon threats of the upcoming arc. This special was also edited alongside the final two chapters of the previous "Entertainment District" arc and given a theatrical release under the title Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To The Swordsmith Village.

American voice actor Zach Aguilar will return as series protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, with Abby Trott reprising her role as Nezuko Kamado, the protagonist's sister. Aleks Le and Bryce Papenbrook will also return as Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira, respectively, although these characters do not play supporting roles in the season. Additionally, The Mist Hashira, Muicihiro Tokito, will be played by Griffin Burns, The Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, will be voiced by Kira Buckland and Zeno Robinson will provide the vocals for Genya Shinazugawa -- all reprising their brief appearances as the same characters in the first season. Finally, Christopher Corey Smith will debut as the demon Hantengu, and Brent Mukai will arrive as another demon, Gyokko.

Demon Slayer's "Swordsmith Village" arc follows Tanjiro Kamado as he journeys to the titular village to get a new Nichirin sword. However, he, his sister and fellow Demon Slayer Genya are forced to fight against a dangerous threat from Muzan Kibutsuji's Twelve Kizuki. The Mist and Love Hashiras also battle against another member of Kibutsuji's elite demon army.

Demon Slayer's Anime Garnered Criticism From Fans

The Japanese release of the third season, which has been simulcast with English subtitles, has been well received by fans. However, some have criticized elements of the anime, with the divisive use of GCI causing a stir in the fanbase and the sexualized depiction of Nezuko causing some to question the series. Despite this, fans have enjoyed the latest installment of the hit franchise, praising its animation and action.

The first episode of Demon Slayer's third season English dub will be available on Crunchyroll on May 28, 2023. In addition, Episode 8 of the Japanese simulcast will arrive the same day.
