Koyoharu Gotōge's popular manga series Demon Slayer has officially concluded with the release of its 205th chapter. That's not the end of the story, however, as a spinoff manga starring Kyojuro Rengoku -- the Flame Pillar -- is currently in the works from Ryōji Hirano.

According to Polygon, the new Demon Slayer manga starring the Flame Pillar will be a rather short one, but is expected to flesh out the character and delve into his backstory all the same. While series creator Gotōge is not involved with the spinoff, Hirano is certainly no stranger to the world of Demon Slayer -- having previously worked on other spinoffs, such as the two-chapter Water Pillar-centric tale Giyu Tomioka: Gaiden.

At this time, no release date for the spinoff manga starring Kyojuro Rengoku has been announced. Notably, however, the character does play a significant role in the upcoming anime movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Train, which arrives in Japanese theaters later this year on Oct. 16. As such, fans can likely expect more to be revealed about the manga in the coming months.

Kyojuro Rengoku is one of the Pillars -- nine individuals who are recognized as the most powerful swordsmasters in the Demon Slayer Corps. The character made his first appearance in early 2017, debuting in Demon Slayer's sixth volume during Chapter 44. He subsequently made his first on-screen appearance in Episode 21 of Demon Slayer's anime adaptation.
