With a successful first season under its belt, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has definitely solidified itself as one of the best series of the decade, with fans constantly asking for a second season. Just recently, the manga has come to a conclusion, meaning that fans can only look forward to the anime to provide them with new Demon Slayer content.

Don't be alarmed: this list won't contain any manga spoilers, but it will contain a few things fans would love to see in the second season, as well as five things that they definitely know they don't want to see.

10 Want: More Information About Tanjiro's Family History

The anime has made many hints to the fact that there's more to Tanjiro's family than meets the eye. Despite his father not being a Demon Slayer, he mastered the Hinokami Kagura, and Tanjiro himself was able to instinctively tap into such an advanced Breathing Technique in a crisis himself. His father even made it clear that the Hanafuda earrings be passed down throughout their bloodline as well, and Kibutsuji had an experience with a Demon Slayer wearing identical earrings.

It doesn't seem like a complete coincidence that the demon himself murdered all of Tanjiro's family and that even after turning Nezuko into a Demon, she was able to not only survive the transformation but maintain her sanity, something which many who receive even a minuscule amount of Kibutsuji's blood are unable to do. There's a big secret regarding his lineage that Tanjiro knows nothing about, but hopefully, season 2 brings the young Demon Slayer closer to these answers.

9 Don't Want: Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Or Inosuke To Die

tanjiro zenitsu and inosuke from demon slayer Cropped

One of the best parts of any anime is the protagonist trio (or in cases like Yu Yu Hakusho, protagonist quartet) and the hilarity that often ensues from their interactions. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke make a very intriguing trio due to their differences, and it's been amazing to watch them fight together.

It would be a colossal shame if one of them were to die in such an unforgiving anime. Although this would really shake things up, the series just wouldn't feel the same without their antics.

8 Want: The Upper Ranks Of The Kizuki In Action

Rui's threads in Demon Slayer

So far in the anime, none of the Upper Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki have made an appearance.

It's only a matter of time before these Hashira crushers make their debuts onscreen, and when that happens, fans will undoubtedly be treated to some of the best battles in the entire series.

7 Don't Want: The Same Opening

Tanjiro and Nezuko back-to-back in the opening theme to Demon Slayer.

Risa Oribe, otherwise known as LiSA, is a Japanese musician whose music has been featured across several anime series. Coupled with the spectacular animation of Demon Slayer's opening, her song "Gurenge" is an amazing way to start every episode. Still, as great as it is, it's definitely going to get old if it's featured in the anime's 27th episode.

What better way to start a new season (or in My Hero Academia's case, a new arc) than with a brand new theme song? Fans are only expecting a bigger and better opening now that Ufotable knows just how many people are watching.

6 Want: More Hashira In Action

All nine of Demon Slayer's Hashira

The nine Hashiras are known as the strongest Demon Slayers in existence, and serve as humanity's best chance of defeating Kibutsuji once and for all. While only Shinobu Kocho (the Insect Hashira) and Giyu Tomioka (the Water Hashira) have really been seen in the anime fighting Demons so far, the ease at which they both took out powerful Demons is a testament just how powerful the Hashiras are.

Although fans haven't seen these other Hashira in action, the promise of stronger Demons on the horizon means that every single one of these warriors will soon get the chance to show off their skills, hopefully in the anime's next season.

5 Don't Want: A Decline In Animation Quality

So far, Demon Slayer's animation has been stellar, with a legendary fight sequence in the anime's 19th episode that left viewers speechless. At the time of its release, the episode even trended on Twitter!

With the pressure on Ufotable, the animation quality shouldn't deteriorate, and should at least stay consistent. Viewers will definitely notice if the quality declines, which won't do such a legendary tale justice.

4 Want: More Of Nezuko Fighting

Although she's spent most of the series cooped up in that box on Tanjiro's back, Nezuko has done her fair share of fighting throughout the series. She's helped Tanjiro in his most gruesome battles, displaying newfound powers and colossal strength that surprises even her enemies.

During the fight against Rui, she debuted her own unique Blood Demon Art to help her brother land (what he thought was) the final blow, and fans can only hope that in season 2, she'll get more opportunities to show off her skills.

3 Don't Want: Nezuko's Loyalty Being Tested By Anyone Again

After Nezuko was turned into a Demon, her loyalty has been tested many times, and she was nearly killed by powerful Demon Slayers who mistook her as a threat. Not only did Kocho and Tomioka try to kill her upon encountering her for the first time, but even after everything she'd done to help Tanjiro dispose of powerful Demons throughout their journey, she found herself tested yet again by the Wind Hashura.

Though this did make for an interesting scene, Nezuko has already proven her loyalty to mankind, and it'll be painful to watch her be tested like this again.

2 Want: More Of Kibutsuji's Backstory

Muzan Kibutsuji is known as the first and most powerful Demon in existence, but little is known about him beyond that. Nobody knows how he got so strong, or how he even became a Demon in the first place. His abilities are a mystery as well, and as fans were shocked to see early on in the series, he has a human wife and daughter! This only brought about more questions concerning his background, since it's a mystery why he feels the need to put up such a farce if he wants to exterminate humankind anyway.

He's purely an enigma, but hopefully, season 2 sheds just a bit more light on his shady past. After learning that he fears the earrings worn by members of Tanjiro's family, many fans want to know how a battle he managed to survive had such a lasting impact on him.

1 Don't Want: Kibutsuji To Be Killed So Soon

Kibutsuji is a very interesting antagonist, but of course, his death will come. There's no way of knowing how long Demon Slayer's anime could run (the manga could be condensed in this second season should the studio feel the need to go this route), but one thing's for certain: as long as Kibutsuji draws breath, the show will go on.

With that being said, a longer run of Demon Slayer would be a lot better than a shorter one, and the rushed demise of Kibutsuji (or even all of the Kizuki for that matter) would only expedite the show's conclusion. Hopefully, the conflict is a bit more drawn out so that he isn't killed in this upcoming season.
