The Entertainment District Arc is one of the most acclaimed story arcs from Koyoharu Gotouge's original Demon Slayer manga, and sees Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Nezuko joining forces with the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui to investigate a series of demon-related disappearances within a major city's red light district. Veteran voice actor Miyuki Sawashiro (Durarara!!) will join the cast as Daki.

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of the Entertainment District Arc will debut on Dec. 5, following the broadcast of the Mugen Train Arc, which begins on Oct. 10 and features a re-edited version of the events seen in the 2020 Mugen Train movie, which is the highest grossing anime movie of all time. The new TV version of the story will feature an all-new first episode that will detail how the Flame Hashira Rengoku made his way to the titular Mugen Train. LiSA, the musician who performed the anime's original theme, will provide new music for the Mugen Train Arc. The show's original theme song, "Gurenge," was so successful that it made its composer into millionaire.

Both Crunchyroll and Funimation have confirmed that they will simulcast both arcs of Demon Slayer as they air in Japan. Funimation previously released the Mugen Train movie in theaters and to its streaming service, and will also release the movie on Blu-ray later this year.

Demon Slayer was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016 and has since become one of the biggest entertainment franchises to emerge out of Japan in recent years. The series focuses on Tanjiro Kamado, who comes home one day to discover that most of his family has been massacred by a demon, and his sole surviving sibling, his little sister Nezuko, has been cursed to transform into a demon herself. Despite his kind nature, Tanjiro decides to learn how to fight so that he can become a demon slayer and protect others from suffering the same fate.
