Muzan Kibutsuji is the primary antagonist of the anime series Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer. While his appearance was subject to a lot of memes thanks to his striking similarity to Michael Jackson, he actually was an extremely formidable foe to all the Demon Slayers.

Known as the Original Demon, he was the first of his kind, and he was the one responsible for turning little Nezuko into a demon, apart from creating every demon on the planet that has been wreaking havoc on the lives of humans. The anime left out many details about him, and those who want to know more can read facts about him below.

10 He Can Change His Appearance At Will

Muzan has very many abilities, some of which are shown in the anime, but a majority of which are covered only in the manga. For those who have watched only the first season of the anime, they will be surprised to know that Muzan turns into a woman in the second season.

He keeps transforming in order to hide his true identity, and he’s even known to change into an 11-year-old child to hide from Demon slayers. That said, comparisons between Muzan and Michael Jackson remain eerily accurate.

9 His Hair Turns White

In the manga, it is shown that, when he fights Tamayo’s poison, it is Shinobu’s poison that takes control of his body. As a result of this, his body becomes deformed, and he transforms into a hideous beast, his skin has red bulbous substances appearing on it, his hair grows much longer and turns into pure white in color.

8 His Tallest Height Equals To That Of Three Buildings

Fans already know that Muzan can change his appearance, but many still don’t know that he can take on inhuman appearances, as well. The manga when Muzan fights his final battle, a desperate Muzan turns into a towering demonic monster in order to slow the sun’s effect on his body.

Said to be the size of three average-size buildings, this form is several stories tall, at the least, which, needless to say, its pretty intimidating.

7 He Is An Extreme Narcissist

Muzan is an extremely self-absorbed and narcissistic demon. He is obsessed with becoming the world’s most superior being, and, since he’s lived on for centuries without any real threat to his life, he has let that go to his head.

Aside from the sun, he has no real weakness, and he obliterates whoever gets in his way. He eventually develops a God complex and becomes incapable of seeing any of his shortcomings.

6 He’s Killed People Simply For Mocking Him

Such is his inflated sense of self-worth that Muzan has become unable to tolerate any negative comments or criticisms regarding himself. This is why, when a pair of drunk men are being rude to him, he goes ahead and kills them.

To make matters worse, he kills the woman who was with them despite the fact that she had not said a word against Muzan. We suppose he lives up to his reputation.

5 He Was Weak As A Human

Muzan conducts himself the way he does in part because he’s trying to overcompensate for the time he was an extremely weak human being. As a human, he was always weak and unhealthy. His condition had deteriorated so much that he was almost on the verge of dying.

4 He Has Regenerative Abilities

Since Muzan is the Original Demon, he is without doubt the fastest and most powerful demon on the planet. Not only can he control his size and appearance, but he also has the ability to quickly heal himself whenever he is in danger.

His limbs grow back quickly, and he also is able to split his body into hundreds of tiny pieces that join back together and form a new body.

3 He Absorbs People’s Cellular Memories

This is yet another special ability that only Muzan possesses. Whoever’s body he absorbs, he gets to view all their memories, as well.

This is shown in the manga when he absorbs Tamayo’s body, and, when her consciousness refuses to give him the information he wants, he wades through all her memories himself.

2 His Body Is Weak To Certain Poisons

Poisons that did not exist before, like Tamayo’s concoction of turning demons into humans, are the kind of poisons that Muzan’s body isn’t prepared for, as he’s never been exposed to them before, and thus, his body has no idea as to how it should fight those poisons. Though we claimed that, aside from the sun, Muzan has no real weakness, that wasn't entirely true.

1 He Dies Via Sunlight

In the penultimate battle in the Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer manga, it is revealed that he dies in the sunlight. During his final moments, fans get to see a glimpse into Muzan’s emotions, where he shows regret for his life choices and fears dying, especially seeing how, during his human childhood, he would always be in a near-death state.
