10 Tanjiro Fought A Huge Mutated Hand Demon During Final Selection
The final selection process is the final test for prospective demon slayers. During this test of survival, Tanjiro encountered a terrifying demon with lots of hands wrapped around its body.
Up until this encounter, Tanjiro had never seen anything this terrifying. Tanjiro learned that this was the demon that killed Sabito and was enraged. After struggling to stay on his feet, Tanjiro launched one final attack and took the demon down.
9 Defeating The Swamp Demon Was Tanjiro's First Mission As A Demon Slayer
Tanjiro was sent to investigate a case of missing teenage girls in a certain town and defeat the demon responsible. Tanjiro arrived and found a man who'd lost his fiance to the demon. The both of them walked all day as Tanjiro followed the demon's faint scent. Finally, he caught the demons and fought them. While fighting, he realized that he was not fighting three demons, but one demon with three split physical personalities.
After jumping into the demon's swampy domain, he defeated two out of the demon's three personalities. He then arrived at the surface and after interrogating the last demon, he dispatched it and said farewell to the man whom he entrusted a victim to.
8 Tanjiro Fought Inosuke Out Of Anger And Nearly Regretted It
After defeating Kyogai, Tanjiro came out of the demon's mansion to find Zenitsu receiving a one-sided beating from Inosuke. Tanjiro was enraged and charged at Inosuke, dealing a powerful punch on the fellow demon slayer. Inosuke was excited at the opportunity to fight a strong opponent.
He came at Tanjiro very aggressively, fighting like a beast and nearly overwhelming Tanjiro who could not comprehend Insuke's flexibility. In their final bout, Tanjiro was able to land a devastating head but on Inosuke which rendered the latter unconscious.
7 Tanjiro & Nezuko's Fight Against Yahaba & Susubaru Was A Close Call
After confronting Muzan, Tanjiro was taken into the abode of two demons - Tamayo and Yushiro. Meanwhile, Muzan sent Yahaba and Susubaru after Tanjiro with the task of killing him. They attacked Tanjiro and his new allies in their house and came so close to killing Tanjiro. Thanks Tanjiro's quick learning and adaptability, along with help from his new friends, they were able to defeat both demons.
6 Tanjiro VS Enmu Put Tanjiro's Resolve On Display
Tanjiro managed to break out of Enmu's spell which made the people on the train fall asleep. After waking up, Tanjiro confronted Enmu by himself and fought the demon moon with all his might. The fight consisted of Enmu putting Tanjiro to sleep and Tanjiro waking up over and over again.
Waking up from the sleep meant the victim had to slit their throat and Tanjiro had been doing this over and over to wake up. His resolve was highly admirable and it even surprised Enmu. Tanjiro managed to take off Enmu's head but he was shocked to realize that it wasn't Enmu's real body he was fighting.
5 Tanjiro & Inosuke Made A Perfect Team Against The Mother Spider Demon
Upon arriving at Natagumo mountain, Tanjiro and Inosuke were separated from Zenitsu as the latter was too terrified to enter the forest. Tanjiro and Inosuke found fellow demon slayers who were being controlled by the mother spider demon. She used them as puppets and had them kill each other.
Inosuke and Tanjiro were able to get past them and advanced towards the puppet master. Fearing her imminent defeat, she unleashed her most powerful puppet which stopped Tanjiro and Inosuke in their tracks. Through well-executed teamwork, they were able to defeat it. Inosuke helped Tanjiro find the mother spider demon and Tanjiro promptly executed her.
4 Kyogai Pushed Tanjiro To His Limit When They Fought
Tanjiro arrived at a mansion for his next mission. It turned out that the house belonged to a really powerful demon. This demon had total control over the mansion. By beating his drums, he could send people to another room, flip the room, or launch claw attacks at his targets.
For a time, Tanjiro was at a loss on how to defeat him. The demon's powers were overwhelming and it was only by self-motivation and adaptability that Tanjiro managed to survive.
3 Tanjiro & Inosuke's Displayed Flawless Teamwork When They Fought Enmu
The first season of Demon Slayer concluded in what is probably the best anime movie of all time. In the Mugen train movie, Tanjiro and Inosuke faced off against Enmu who had fused with the train and held its passengers hostage.
Their teamwork played a vital part in their success. This fight showed how far both demon slayers had come in their training. They managed to defeat Enmu and saved the passengers of the train.
2 Tanjiro Lost To Sabito For Months Before Winning Him
After training for years, Tanjiro encountered a former student of his master. At this point, Tanjiro had become reasonably skilled with the sword yet he still lost to Sabito. Tanjiro kept training to improve his breathing and to make all the forms of the technique a part of him, but Sabito kept beating him.
It took Tanjiro six months of hellish training before he could finally best Sabito in a fight.
1 Tanjiro's Had A Brush With Death When He Fought Rui
This was the one fight Tanjiro couldn't win as he was matched from the very start. Tanjiro fought his hardest but he still lacked the skill and combat experience needed to defeat a demon moon.
After coming so close to defeating Rui, Tanjiro was shocked to see that his most powerful attack yet was still not enough to defeat him. Just as Tanjiro was about to lose his life to Rui, a Hashira ranked demon slayer - Giyu Tomioka, saved him and very easily defeated Rui.
