Demon Slayer has a wide cast of memorable characters, many of who are irresistibly likable and have already made their mark in shounen history. The realization that the manga has now concluded will certainly sadden diehard fans as their favorite character's stories have officially come to an end.
Fans will still have the feature film, the anime's second season and a video game to look forward to. The characters in Demon Slayer have such diverse personalities that there is someone reminiscent of each of the 12 zodiac star signs.
12 Aquarius: Genya Shinazugawa
The younger brother of Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira, can be defined by several words: Aloof, temperamental, uncompromising, and original. All traits of an Aquarius. Although he's a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, Genya prefers to keep to himself. For instance, there was that time when Genya met Tanjiro again and completely ignored his greeting. He chooses to undertake missions and face enemies alone.
Genya is quite short-tempered, this was really evident after the Final Selection test when he confronted the Ubuyashiki twins. One of his greatest strengths is his ferocity, which makes him uncompromising in his missions. Also, there is Genya's unique ability to acquire demon powers by consuming their flesh.
11 Cancer: Gyomei Himejima
Don't be fooled by this guy's massive frame and bulging arm veins, Gyomei is the epitome of a gentle giant. Befitting of his mountainous height, Gyomei is the Stone Hashira. He can get overly emotional and is particularly sensitive when children are involved. He is definitely a Cancer.
This is due to Gyomei living with nine orphans before joining the Corps. His extreme loyalty towards his allies and tenacity to protect them are other traits that show he's a Cancer.
10 Leo: Mitsuri Kanroji
Passionate, humorous, cheerful, and determined; these are the traits of a Leo, and Mitsuri ticks all boxes. Apart from Gyomei, Kyojuro, and Tengen, Mitsuri has a very upbeat cheerful personality. She is passionate about life in general and treats her fellow Hashira like family, not hesitating to (mentally) compliment them whenever they display their strength.
Mitsuri's determination stems from seeking a man stronger than herself to marry. To anime viewers and manga readers, she is undeniably one of the funniest characters in the series.
9 Libra: Kagaya Ubuyashiki
Kagaya has the dual responsibility of being the head of the Ubuyashiki family and the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps on his shoulders. Bearing these heavy responsibilities won't be a problem for him because of his kind-hearted personality, diplomacy skills, and fair-minded nature. Some traits associated with a Libra.
Kagaya cares for his subordinates deeply, even referring to them as his children. He's the polar opposite of Muzan Kibutsuji, and his diplomacy skills aid him greatly when resolving conflicts within the Corps. Kagaya is so fair-minded, as soon as he heard Nezuko refused to drink human blood he deemed her not a threat.
8 Virgo: Yushiro
If there's one trait of a Virgo that Yushiro exhibits it is loyalty, which is evident from his extreme dedication to Lady Tamayo. He's utterly devoted to her, as she saved his life when he was on his death bed. He works hard under her servitude to the point where his whole existence revolves around serving Tamayo.
As a Virgo, Yushiro can be quite analytical in battle scenarios. Acutely utilizing his Blindfold technique to compensate for his lack of combat proficiency.
7 Taurus: Lady Tamayo
Lady Tamayo is defined by her generosity, patience, determination, and logicality; therefore, in conclusion, she's a Taurus. Her generosity and determination are by far two of her strongest character traits. As a doctor, she maintains a calm, patient demeanor and is devoted to improving the wellbeing of her patients.
What really drives her today is finally killing Muzan Kibutsuji, erasing his vile presence from the world. Something that Kagaya admires in her, despite Tamayo being a demon. When faced with combat scenarios, she resolves them using logical thinking.
6 Capricorn: Giyu Tomioka
Look at that glare. It faithfully conveys Giyu's character traits: Disciplined, hard-working, and responsible. Traits linked to the Capricorn star sign. It's clear from his first appearance that Giyu is all work and no play. He always holds a no-nonsense and simple approach to his duties: Slay demons and protect humans.
Giyu's time with the Demon Slayer Corps and training under the former Water Hashira have made him very disciplined. He can bear responsibility well, as he knew he would be held accountable for allowing Nezuko to live when the Corps found out.
5 Sagittarius: Kanae Kocho
The late Kanae Kocho served as the Demon Slayer Corp's Insect Hashira. Her younger sister, Shinobu Kocho, would inherit the title after her passing. Kanae was recognized amongst the Hashira for her kind, laidback, generous personality. One notable act of kindness she did in her life was adopting an abused Kanao.
Kanae is known to be idealistic. To the extent, she believes humans and demons can one day co-exist peacefully. Idealistic and generous? She is certainly a Sagittarius.
4 Aries: Kyojuro Rengoku
Kyojuro was introduced later on in the series, to be precise, near the conclusion of the anime's first season. However, it's clear he'll have a more active role in the upcoming movie.
Kyojuro comes across as a courageous, enthusiastic warrior with a fiery determination to protect others. Traits befitting of the flame Hashira and an Aries. Coincidentally, fire is the element affiliated with the Aries Star Sign.
3 Scorpio: Inosuke Hashibira
Common characteristics associated with Scorpios are bravery, resourcefulness, and an instinct to always compete with others. Inosuke's bravery can largely stem from his impulsiveness. He displayed great courage during his fight against the Father Spider.
Moreover, Inosuke was exceptionally resourceful, like the time he used his spatial awareness technique to find his enemies. Or the time he disarmed (literally) the Father Spider through simultaneously utilizing his twin blades. Inosuke's competitive nature is obvious from his interactions with Tanjiro.
2 Gemini: Nezuko Kamado
Prior to becoming a demon, Nezuko was a compassionate girl who loved her family dearly. After her transformation, Nezuko retained some of her old personality, such as her compassion towards others. Adaptability, affection, and curiosity are traits common to Geminis.
Nezuko is very adaptable, as she quickly becomes accustomed to her new demonic abilities in a short amount of time. A clear sign of her affection is giving head pats to others.
1 Pisces: Tanjiro Kamado
Last but not least is the protagonist himself. Tanjiro has won the hearts of many anime fans for his kind, generous and empathetic personality. He always puts the wellbeing of others before himself.
What's amazing about Tanjiro is that he's able to empathize with demons. He knows that they were once human too and that some, like his sister, didn't even choose to become demons. It's his empathy that makes Tanjiro a true Pisces.
