Japanese Demon Slayer fans will soon be able to get their hands on official replicas of Inosuke's unique dual Nichirin swords.
Premium Bandai has opened up preorders for a set of twin swords modeled after the boar-headed slayer's unique weapons. Bandai previously released replicas of Tanjiro's jet-black katana, Zenitsu's lightning banded blade and the Kyojuro Rengoku's flame patterned swords. Inosuke differs from most of this Demon Slayer Corps. colleagues by wielding two swords simultaneously, each of which has a unique, roughly serrated shape that has been painstakingly recreated in this new replica. True to the character's loud nature, the swords will play sound effects from the show, which can be activated two ways: by pressing a button on the grip, the swords will play a voice clip of Inosuke, and by crossing the hilts of each sword over each other, the replicas will recreate sound effects from the anime that are associated with Inosuke's unique Beast Breathing style. The swords are currently available for preorder in Japan only, and retail for 16,450 yen (about $150 USD).
In the world of Demon Slayer, Nichirin blades are one of the few weapons humans can use to kill a demon. The swords are made of a rare ore that is capable of absorbing sunlight, the demons' primary weakness. The blades change colors to match their wielder, and each member of the Demon Slayer Corps. further customizes their swords with a unique hand guard.
Inosuke is one part of the Demon Slayer anime's main trio, which consists of him, the show's central protagonist Tanjiro and the cowardly simp Zenitsu. All three swordsmen are continuing to work together in the anime's current Entertainment District arc, which sees the trio, as well as Tanjiro's cursed little sister, Nezuko, joining forces with the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui to battle the demons that have taken up residence within the city's red light district.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba was originally created by Koyoharu Gotouge and originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016. The manga is one of the top ten best-selling manga series of all time, with over 150 million copies in circulation worldwide. Gotouge concluded the story this past May, and despite ending within the first half of the year, the series was still overall the second best-selling manga in Japan of 2021, being just barely edged-out of the top spot by Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen. The anime adaptation of the series is currently streaming on both Funimation and Crunchyroll, with both services simulcasting subtitled versions of new episodes as they air in Japan.
