Inosuke manages to hack off the demon's arm and it flees to a nearby tree. When Inosuke rediscovers the demon, he laughs and arrogantly assumes the demon is afraid of him. Despite not knowing what it is himself, Tanjiro tries to deescalate the situation and tells Inosuke not to attack. Zenitsu explains that it is just a train, but Inosuke refuses to listen and throws himself headfirst into the carriage. This causes a scene and forces the three Demon Slayers to flee to avoid being caught by the police for having swords in their possession.
