The world of Demon Slayer is a dangerous one, filled with man-eating demons who prowl the lands at night. But the people of Japan are protected thanks to the efforts of the Demon Slayer Corps, an organization of demon slayers that most people don't even know about.

Demons are powerful creatures, so the cast of the series has had to train exceptionally hard to be able to fight demons, using powerful breathing techniques to help get the job done. Along the way, these characters have developed moves all their own that are unique to them. Let's take a look at some of these signature moves.

10 Kanao: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye

First up is Kanao Tsuyuri, a demon slayer who passed the Final Selection alongside Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke. Kanao has a very tragic backstory but after being rescued by Shinobu, she's become a formidable demon slayer, strong enough to fight alongside the Pillars of the Demon Slaying Corps.

Kanao's signature move is also her most powerful. She unlocked the Equinoctial Vermilion Eye, or Scarlet Spider Lily Eye, during her fight against Doma, the Upper Moon Two of the Twelve Demon Moons. This technique focuses her kinetic vision to its maximum, letting her perceive the world like it's moving in slow motion, but the strain on her eyes can cause blindness.

9 Inosuke: Rip and Devour

Everybody's favorite Boar Boy has a number of techniques available in his arsenal, and they're all self-taught. Inosuke uses the Breath of the Beast, a breathing technique that he developed himself after living in the mountains his whole life raised by boars.

If there's one move that Inosuke uses we consider to be his signature move, it's Third Fang: Rip and Devour. We first see Inosuke use this move against the Horned Demon during the Tsuzumi House Arc and by the results of this attack, Rip and Devour is a brutally effective move as Inosuke was able to kill the Horned Demon with ease.

8 Shinobu: Butterfly Dance

Demon Slayer Butterfly Dance Shinobu

Shinobu is one of the Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps who uses the Breath of the Insect technique. What's interesting about Shinobu is that she doesn't have the physical strength to cut off a demon's head so instead, she coats her sword with wisteria poison to make short work of demons.

Shinobu is introduced using her signature move, Dance of the Butterfly: Frolic, to defeat the Older Sister Spider Demon. The Butterfly Dance involves Shinobu jumping toward a target and inflicting several small cuts on the target to inject her deadly poison in this surprisingly devastating move.

7 Giyu: Dead Calm

Giyu Tomioka is the stern Water Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps and he really cares what other people think of him. Being the Water Pillar, Giyu has mastered all the styles of the Breath of Water technique but his signature move is a technique that he created himself, Eleventh Style: Dead Calm.

Eleventh Style: Dead Calm is now a strong technique because of its power but because of its defensive capabilities. This unique move enables Giyu to disable and nullify almost any incoming attack. The only downside with this technique is that fast and repeated attacks can lower its effectiveness.

6 Rengoku: Flame Tiger

We haven't seen much of Kyojuro Rengoku in the anime but even with his short screen time, he's become a fan-favorite character. But fans who have read the manga are familiar with Rengoku and what he can do as the Flame Pillar against an Upper Moon Demon.

In his fight against Akaza, Upper Moon Three, Rengoku showcased a lot of Breath of Flames techniques, but his most spectacular is Fifth Style: Flame Tiger. Rengoku does a series of sword slashes that ends up creating an image of a tiger made of flames. It's not just flashy but powerful, too, as it was able to go against Akaza's War Style.

5 Genya: Demonic Transformation

Genya Shinazugawa is unique among the other demon slayers. Even though he's the younger brother of the Wind Pillar, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Genya doesn't have the ability to use breathing techniques. However, what he can do more than makes up for it.

Genya has the ability to basically transform into a demon temporarily. By consuming part of a demon, Genya receives the strength and regenerative abilities of that demon. This ability really came into its own when he consumed part of Kokushibo, the Upper Moon One, and Genya became so powerful that he even started looking like Kokushibo.

4 Tengen: Symphony of Shrill Strings

Tengen Uzui is the Sound Pillar and the most flamboyant member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Everything he does is over-the-top and extravagant, and that includes his fighting techniques. Tengen carries two swords that are connected at the hilt by a chain and carry huge amounts of explosive power.

His signature move would have to be the Fifth Style of the Breath of Sound, Symphony of Shrill Strings. Befitting of his flamboyant style, this move involves Tengen spinning one of his swords by the chain while simultaneously releasing numerous bombs that cause devastating explosions.

3 Zenitsu: Thunderclap and Flash

Zenitsu is not a character to be underestimated. He may be the personification of a panic attack but he's also the only character we've seen so far to kill an Upper Moon demon single-handedly. Unlike most of the other demon slayers that can use multiple styles of their breathing techniques, Zenitsu can really only use one.

The only style of the Breath of Thunder he can use is the First Style, Thunderclap and Flash, making it his signature move. Even though he only has the one move in his repertoire, Zenitsu has honed this move to perfection to the point that he can use it repeatedly in quick succession without issue.

2 Nezuko: Exploding Blood

If we could have, we would have had Nezuko's signature move be her cuteness, but we don't think that can count as a move. Instead, we've chosen her unique Blood Demon Art as her signature move, though she's only used it once so far in the anime.

Nezuko's Blood Demon Art is called Exploding Blood, and it does just that. It makes her blood explode. Her Blood Demon Art allows her to ignite her blood at will and turn it into powerful flames. Later on in the manga, she's also able to use this ability to turn Tanjiro's Nichirin Blade from black to a crimson red, making it more effective against demons.

1 Tanjiro: Dance of the Fire God

Finally, there's Tanjiro's signature move, Dance of the Fire God, which he's still learning to get a handle on but is still the strongest signature move in the series. The Dance of the Fire God is a breathing technique known and taught only by the Kamado family, and it was taught to Tanjiro by his father when he was a young boy.

Dance of the Fire God seems to envelop Tanjiro's sword in powerful flames and has a yet revealed form that was made specifically to kill Muzan Kibutsuji. It turns out that the Dance of the Fire God is the same as the Breath of the Sun, a long-forgotten breathing style that all other breathing styles branch out of and Muzan's biggest weakness.
