Conflict is key to any plot, and every lead needs something they need to overcome and flaws they need to improve uponーunless that lead is Anos Voldigoad from The Misfit of Demon King Academy, in which case he is essentially given god mode.
After 2000 years, Anos has been reborn and is on his way to regaining his mantle as the Demon King. In the first season, he's proven his brilliance and power on multiple occasions, making a fool out of any who challenge him. Specifically, these 10 moments show off the sheer power Anos possesses in order of greatness and intensity without any assistance.
10 Dispelled A Fire Attack By Blinking
When visiting the Hero Academy, Anos met two students, Laos and Ledriano, who claimed to be the Hero Kanon's reincarnations. Anos refused to believe their claims, so Laos tried to put Anos in his place with a flame attack. His plan backfired when Anos snuffed out the fire and pushed him back simply by blinking. Ledriano kept Laos from striking back and apologized, mostly to hide their real strength for the time being. Not that it did any good in the long run.
9 Negating A Group Attack With A Minor Spell
In a last-ditch effort to win the match, Sasha convinced her team to group up and use Origin Magic to finish him off. Despite her team's reservations, they went through with it and unleashed a blistering attack directly at Anos.
Which he immediately countered with a spell that nullified the spell and finished off Sasha's team. As an added insult, the spell he used was one of the weakest known spells enhanced solely by his sole magical energy.
8 Using Intimidation To Disrupt Magic
After defeating Zendes in a public match, his brother Leorig ambushed Anos and channeled magic circles along with other Royals to attack Anos. Before they could strike, they immediately lost control of their magic circles, and the impending explosion nearly killed Leorig. When he demanded Anos explain what he did, Anos said that he used intimidation on their magic roots. He claimed the root causes a demon's magical power to go berserk when it fears someone that outclasses them—a subtle way of saying that Anos was leagues beyond Leorig and his cronies.
7 Reviving His Teacher As A Hybrid
Humans aren't the only species that experience bigotry. Royalists are demons who are pureblooded descendants of Anos who look down upon Hybrids, demons that have chosen to breed with other species like spirits and treat them like trash. Anos's teacher, Emilia Ludowell, was willing to kill Anos's mother and his fan union to steal his sword so he could not compete.
As punishment, not only did he kill her, but he brought her back. She was reborn as a hybrid. What better punishment is there than making a bigot walk a mile in the shoes of that which she hates the most?
6 Decimating An Opponent With His Heartbeat
Whether it's starting at a new school or a new job, it's important to make a good first impression. Anos did a remarkable job in his entrance exam when he was pitted in a battle against the pompous demon, Zendes. Zendes wanted revenge after Anos humiliated earlier, and Anos was willing to use a handicap by not moving. Instead, he channeled his magic into his heartbeat, the sound of which left Zendes a bloody mess.
5 Cauing Serious Damage With A Stick
During a friendly sparring session against transfer student Lay Glazudlii, Anos chose to limit himself to the match fair. While Lay fought with a sword, Anos used a stick he found lying on the ground. Despite using such a measly weapon, the proceeding battle was so intense that it caused severe damage to their surroundings. The ground shook with an earthquake's intensity, a mountain was destroyed, and the nearby river dried up. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt, and the magic replenished the damaged forest.
4 Winning A Magic Sword Tournament
Despite some relatively minor setbacks, Anos made it to the Dilhade Magic Sword Tournament's final duel against his new friend Lay Glanzudlii. He's one of the few students that could last longer than anyone else in a fight against Anos. At the rate these two fought, none of the bystanders could see them due to their astonishing speed.
Even though Anos had a device draining his magical energy and Lay didn't, he won the competition and (literally) disarmed his opponent. Proving that beating Anos would take more than swordplay to beat him.
3 Evaporated A Lake
While during an inter academy battle between the demon school and human school, it was discovered that the humans cheated by pumping holy water into the lake that was used as the arena. After getting a message to seek out the underwater shrine, Anos went in to investigate after he cleared out the water, which he did by conjuring a colossal ball of magical energy that evaporated all the water in the lake and destroyed the pump.
2 Throwing A Castle
During a team battle, Anos and Misha compete against Sasha and her team in a game where the two parties construct castles with magic and attack the opposing team. Sasha was confident that her team could easily win against Anos, but there was one thing she didn't expect to happen. Anos walking up to the castle, penetrating their defenses and picking up the castle while Sasha and her team were in it. To which he went on to spin it around and lob it like a ball. Proving that just because someone looks weak doesn't mean they are.
1 Defying The God Of Time
If there's one thing that can be said about Anos is that if nothing else, he is persistent. He refuses to accept failure and always finds a way to come out on top of any situation he finds himself in. That includes going back in time and fighting Eugo La Raviaz, the Guardian God of Time, to save Misha and Sasha. Even after Eugo fuses with Ivis Necron, gains the power to control time, and deals a fatal blow, Anos still summons enough power to send the girls back in time and kill Ivis. Proving that even gods are no match for the Demon King.
