There is something to be said about how good some food looks when it's in animated form—and this is especially true in anime. The amazing detail given to these dishes makes them look so good that some viewers may want a bite of it themselves. Nothing beats good food, after all.

Thankfully, many of these foods can be eaten in real life, but others could only exist in the wild and extraordinary worlds that certain anime depicts. Whether it's extremely circumstantial or the ingredients don't exist in the real world, it's actually a shame that these fantastical foods only exist in fiction.

10 Stone Age Ramen (Dr. Stone)

Senku's Ramen, Dr. Stone

When humanity gets petrified and sends it back into the stone age, the last thing someone would expect is to see a freshly made bowl of ramen. Thankfully, Senku knew that the way to some people's hearts was through their stomachs, and he created this to win over the people of Ishigami Village.

Using foxtail millet for noodles and chicken and fish for broth, the stone age ramen ended up being a smash hit with the villagers. Senku, however, disliked it, noting a sandy texture and bitter aftertaste. Regardless, those stuck in a land forgotten by time may be able to overlook this and chow down.

9 Mystery Croquettes (Kill La Kill)

Mako and Ryuko Eating Mystery Croquettes, Kill la Kill

The signature dish of the Mankanshoku family, Sukuyo Mankanshoku's "Mystery Croquettes" may look sketchy, but it is apparently delicious. The ingredients to this dish are vague, hence the name, but made with presumably anything that's lying around. Thankfully, Sukuyo confirms they aren't deadly—as far as anyone knows.

These croquettes sometimes have crazy things stuffed in them, such as hardboiled eggs, an entire fish, and even oranges—and those are just the visible ones. Considering how the Mankanshoku family goes to town on a mountain, they must be good even.

8 Other World Fruit (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid)

Other World Fruit, Maid Dragon

During the competition for what makes the better bento box, Kobayashi and her maid dragon, Tohru, end up preparing plenty of delicious stuff. Still, Tohru's entry for the desert portion really goes off the deep end. Sneaking around to the other world, Tohru brings in a pink fruit that jumps to life and starts barking after being bitten.

This fruit doesn't have a name, nor are many details about how it tastes given, but it's apparently delicious. Since it was meant to be a desert, it's likely very sweet. It might just be good enough to be worth the freakiness that comes with it.

7 The Various Berries (Pokémon)

Pokemon Berries

The diet of the Pokémon World and the Pokémon's relation to it is an often debated subject that's tricky to truly pin down. Still, if there's one thing that seems to delight the tastebuds of both humans and Pokémon, it's the wide variety of berries and their many applications. These little fruits come in many shapes, sizes, and flavors (from sweet, sour, and even spicy), and while they have medicinal uses, they can also give flavor to a variety of other foods.

They can be used for Pokémon food—such as Poffins and Poké Puffs—and are key ingredients for the Galar Region's signature curry and some tasty juice that both trainer and Pokémon can enjoy together.

6 Köfta Kebab Burger (Food Wars!)

Köfta Kebab Burger from Food Wars!

There are plenty of wild and amazing dishes served up by Totsuki Academy students—it's part of what gives this culinary school its reputation, after all. Among the long list of mouth-watering food from Food Wars! that viewers would be dying to try, Akira Hayama's Köfta Kebab Burger is among the series most visually splendid and practically impossible meals.

Packed inside a pita and made using a Turkish meatball patty loaded with spices, this juicy burger is a carnival of exotic flavor that's just begging to be enjoyed. In real life, the intense juices would make for some soggy pita bread upon eating.

5 Skytree Pork Bowl (Silver Spoon)

The Skytree Porkbowl from Silver Spoon.

For the most part, the slice-of-life farming anime Silver Spoon is rooted in reality. Despite this, the anime does have its over-the-top moments, and one of them comes in the form of the "Skytree Pork Bowl."

The ingredients are pretty simple, with a bowl of rice and some finely cooked pork, but what sends this dish into the realm of impossibility is how high the pork is stacked on top of the rice, making it hard to believe that anything could even be under that mountain of meat. Impressive presentation, but a stack of pork that big would likely fall over easily in reality.

4 Lily Of The Ramen (Toriko)

Lily of the Ramen, from Toriko

The culinary world of Toriko is both fantastical and really bizarre, full of food-themed flora and fauna that defy all forms of science and logic. One of these strange and naturally occurring parts of the Gourmet World's nature is the "Lily of the Ramen."

As the name implies, Lily of the Ramen is a flower that contains an entire piping hot bowl of ramen when it blooms, complete with all the fixings—like seaweed, fishcake, and meat. How does a plant like this manage to produce a bowl of soup with all those ingredients naturally? That's unclear, but what is clear is that this dish could only exist in the realm of anime.

3 Demon World Food (Welcome To Demon School! Iruma-kun)

Clara sings about cooking, Welcome to Demon School! Iruma kun

The Demon World is full of strange beings and landscapes that look like they'd be out of either someone's nightmares or a Halloween fan's dream, and this can be expected that the food found there reflects that as well. While some dishes that can be found in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun appears to have real-world equivalents, and many appear otherworldly.

Resembling large bugs, plants that look poisonous, and some that even got a face on them, the Demon World's food looks like it could eat someone before they eat them. Despite how weird they appear, they're actually known to be quite tasty, to the point where even Iruma can shovel in multiple servings.

2 Golden Eggs Lunch Set (Food Wars!)

Soma's Golden Egg Lunch Set

It'd be a crime not to mention at least one of Soma's many dishes from Food Wars!, though believe it or not, there are actually quite a few of his culinary feats that can actually be recreated in real life. Surprisingly some of his more wild entries, like the "Gotcha Pork Roast" and the "Morphing Furikake Rice," are doable. However, his "Golden Eggs Lunch Set" is in a league all its own.

These golden boiled eggs are mini bombs of flavorful soup, including hamburg steak, omelet rice, and fried salmon. How Soma could pack all that delicious flavor into those tiny eggs without falling apart is a little vague, but it's the kind of impossible food that only he could pull off.

1 Jewel Meat (Toriko)

Toriko, prepared Jewel Meat

Another fantastical delicacy that could only be apart of Toriko's Gourmet World, Jewel Meat is a mouth-watering meal that doesn't just shine metaphorically, but quite literally too. Harvested from a vicious beast called "Regal Mammoth," the aptly named meat looks like a shiny jewel that puts diamonds to shame.

Once prepared properly, Jewel Meat glows bright enough to light up the night, and the hearty but mellow taste is good enough to make a grown man cry. An impossible food from an impossible animal, fans can only dream of the taste of this amazing dish.
