EXCLUSIVE: DCeased #3 Reveals the Fate of Batman, Joker & More Heroes

WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for DCeased #3, by Tom Taylor, Trevor Hairsine and Stefano Gaudiano, on sale Wed., July 3.

Earlier this summer, the DC Universe found itself under siege by a techno-virus that converted its victims from everyday people, superheroes and supervillains into slathering, mindless, zombie-like creatures. The alternate reality outbreak, which is unleashed in DCeased #1 by Darkseid finally unlocking the Anti-Life Equation, swiftly spreads across Earth, and only a handful of heroes and villains have been spared.

Throughout the first two issues, we've seen Hal Jordan succumb, Black Canary take possession of Jordan's Green Lantern power ring, Nightwing fall victim to the virus and attack Batman, and more. But while the final fate of the Dark Knight has been teased, we have yet to see what happened to him (and others)... until now.

CBR's exclusive preview of Tom Taylor, Trevor Hairsine and Stefano Gaudiano's third issue not only reveals that Batman was ultimately unable to survive his adopted son's attack, Gotham's Birds of Prey -- Batgirl, Catwoman, Batwoman and Huntress -- have also fallen victim to Darkseid's unleashed evil.

We also learn how Harley Quinn's previously teased confrontation with the techo-virus infected Joker plays out, and, frankly, it's pretty cathartic for Harley. After initially running from her former abusive boyfriend, Harley ends up facing the undead Clown Prince of Crime and, in the process, puts him down and her past behind her... with the help of a shotgun.
