"True Blood" actress Deborah Ann Woll has landed the female lead in Marvel Television and Netflix's upcoming "Daredevil" series. Reported by Entertainment Weekly, Woll will play the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Karen Page, the longtime love interest of Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

Although Woll is best known for her portrayal of Jessica Hamby in HBO's "True Blood," she also had roles in "Ruby Sparks" and the animated adaptation of "Axe Cop." Her upcoming projects include "Meet Me in Montenegro" and "Forever."

Karen Page was first introduced in "Daredevil" #1 in 1964, and initially served as the secretary at law firm Nelson and Murdock. During the course of her life as a character, Karen was a love interest both for Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson, and ended up having a long-term on-again/off-again relationship with Matt Murdock for many years. During her brief exodus from "Daredevil", she appeared in the pages of "Ghost Rider" as a supporting character, before returning with an expanded role. The character died at the hands of longtime Daredevil adversary Bullseye in "Daredevil" #5 in 1999. Although the character appeared briefly in the "Daredevil" film, the Netflix series marks the first time Karen Page has had any significant screen time.

Woll is the latest in a series of "Daredevil" casting announcements from Marvel Television, which includes series lead Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin and Rosario Dawson in an as-yet unknown role.
