Things have been heating up all season long on the CW's "Arrow," and with the release of a 3-minute trailer, it's pretty obvious the proverbial pot is about to boil over.

Guggenheim Says This Week's "Arrow" is the Biggest Episode in Show History

The trailer features scenes from tonight's all-new episode, "The Promise," along with glimpses of "Arrow" season two's future. Oliver Queen and Slade Wilson are together again, now that the super serum-infused killer better known as Deathstroke has revealed himself to be alive and well in Starling City. That's bad news for Ollie, as Slade reveals his intentions to deliver on a promise he made to Oliver back on the island five years ago -- a promise that could end with the death of Oliver and everyone he knows and loves.

But true to his nature, Oliver doesn't scare so easily. He makes a promise of his own: to refocus on Slade's reappearance, and "make sure he stays dead." He has plenty of backup on that end, too, now that both Black Canary and Roy Harper have joined his side. On top of that, Oliver might get some unexpected help in the form of the Suicide Squad; the killer lineup, first teased here on CBR, appears to be gathering to hunt Deathstroke as well.

EXCLUSIVE: Amanda Waller Unleashes the Suicide Squad on "Arrow"

The government-formed Suicide Squad (officially called Task Force X) consists of Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White), Mark Scheffer/Shrapnel (Sean Maher), Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Michael Rowe), Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson), series regular Diggle (David Ramsey) and Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson). The team's arrival was foreshadowed earlier in "Arrow" season two with the debut of Waller -- depicted on the show, as in New 52 comic book continuity, as Director of A.R.G.U.S. -- and her subsequent recruitment of Bronze Tiger in January's episode "Tremors."
