When the Justice League proves no match for the seemingly unstoppable Doomsday, the planet's only hope is the Man of Steel in the new trailer for The Death of Superman.
An adaptation of the bestselling 1992 comic book storyline of the same name, the direct-to-video movie from Warner Bros. Animation brings the monster from Krypton's prehistory to present-day Earth, where it leaves the members of the Justice League -- Wonder Woman, Batman and The Flash, among them -- wounded or near-death. Clearly, this is a job for Superman.
However, as readers of the comics, or even the film's title, know, the defeat of Doomsday comes at a high price. The Death of Superman is the first part of a planned two-movie epic that will conclude in 2019 with the release of Reign of the Supermen.
Debuting this summer on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD, The Death of Superman stars Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, Rainn Wilson as Lex Luthor, Jason O’Mara as Batman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Matt Lanter as Aquaman, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Christopher Gorham as The Flash and Shemar Moore as Cyborg.
