One of the most eagerly anticipated video game titles in years has been the upcoming action game Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima's return to the medium. The PlayStation 4 title boasts an all-star cast of actors providing voice work and motion-capture, including Mads Mikkelsen, Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux and Guillermo Del Toro.

Now, PlayStation has released a gameplay trailer while also confirming its official release date as November 8.

Set in a mysterious open-world, the extended trailer shows futuristic motorbikes and armored suits as players navigate the terrain stealthily to avoid intimidating masked patrols. As Reedus' character is seen attempting to survive in the strange, sci-fi setting, the footage reveals a combination of stealth and combat gameplay.

Kojima had reformed his video game production studio Kojima Productions after it was dissolved by his longtime collaborators at Konami in 2015. The parting between Kojima and Konami led to the cancelation of a planned Silent Hill reboot with Del Toro and Reedus dubbed P.T., or, "Playable Teaser." However, with the new trailer, it appears Kojima's partnerships with Del Toro and Reedus have led to a completely different video game experience.
