Dark Nights: Death Metal pushed the heroes and villains of the DC Universe to the breaking point, with the armies of the multiverse holding their own and keeping hope alive. And with that hope comes cause for celebration in some unexpectedly exciting ways.

In celebration of their victory over the Darkest Knight in Dark Nights: Death Metal, Batman ends up joining three other notable heroes to form the most powerful band in existence -- providing the music for a massive party outside the Hall of Justice.

The final battle of Death Metal saw the entire DC Multiverse united against the Darkest Knight and his armies of corrupted heroes and villains. It was a hard-fought battle, with many classic heroes and villains giving it their all and even dying in the climactic battle. With Wonder Woman's victory over the Darkest Knight, the survivors are triumphant. The Hands even restore the damaged multiverse to how it was, reviving the fallen and fixing the world. Notably, however, the Hands do not just erase the events of the battle -- allowing the heroes, villains, and civilians of the DC Universe to instead remember the near-end of the world as the omniverse is opened up to them.

This leads to a massive celebration outside the Hall of Justice, with Superman speaking before the assorted crowds and reassuring them that they'll keep fighting for them going forward. This is followed by a giant party afterward, with the heroes even extending invitations to the villains who fought alongside them. While only a handful of notable villains are seen at the party (including Bizarro and Poison Ivy), many notable Justice League members attend the celebration.

There's even a performance by four of the heroes, who unite to form the most powerful band in the world: Superman takes lead vocals, while Black Canary and Batman rock out on lead guitar and bass guitar respectively. Finally, Wally West is given a massive drum-set to go wild with, providing the backing beat for the celebration. Lifted up by constructs created by the Green Lanterns, the band is able to blast their music across the party. It's a sweet moment, especially seeing people like the usually dour Batman and the until-recently condemned Wally West getting a chance to cut loose and enjoy themselves. Held outside the Hall of Justice, there even appears to be crowds of other figures below the main party, suggesting plenty of civilians got the chance to see some of their saviors rocking out.

It's an especially fun moment for Bruce Wayne, who through the recent events of "City of Bane" and "Joker War" has been through a lot -- including the loss of his wealth, his stature in Gotham, and even Alfred Pennyworth. Seeing Batman cut loose and enjoy himself alongside his friends, even if just for a night, is a refreshing sight for the Dark Knight and a reminder of the man who's behind the bat. While there are plenty of threats to look forward to defeating in the future, Batman got to let his hair down for one night.
