Kadokawa has released a new trailer for the anime adaptation of Rin Asano's Deaimon manga series, and it's as sweet as the story's confectionaries.
Deaimon tells the story of a young man named Nagumo, who left behind his family and home in Kyoto to pursue his dreams of becoming a musician. However, when he finds out that his father has been hospitalized, he returns home to take over the family's confectionary shop.
The trailer gives watchers a preview of what to expect in the new series and introduces several of the characters and voice actors. The cast includes many anime industry-veterans like Nobunaga Shimazaki (The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window, Haikyuu!!: To The Top) as protagonist Nagumo Irino, Rikiya Koyama (Black Clover, Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) as Heigo Irino, Sayaka Ohara (Made in Abyss, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable) as Fuki Irino, Hiroshi Iwasaki (Cowboy Bebop, Glitter Force) as Masa Tatsumi and Minori Suzuki (King's Game The Animation) as Mitsuru Horikawa.
Encourage Films is animating the show with Fumitoshi Oizaki (A Centaur's Life, Etotama) serving as director, Reiko Yoshida (Blue Period, A Silent Voice) supervising the scripts and Sakae Shibuya (Girl Friend Note, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) designing the characters and overseeing the animation.
Deaimon is expected to premiere sometime in 2022.
