13 years after its series finale aired in August 2006, Deadwood is returning to HBO for one last ride in the form of a feature-length film.

The upcoming revival of the acclaimed Western series has released its first teaser trailer. The footage shows the return of several iconic characters to the South Dakota frontier town, which stands on the cusp of a burgeoning future.

As Seth Bullock comes face-to-face with his old rival Al Swearengen once again, old grudges soon resurface and gunfights start spilling out into the streets.

After years of rumors, a film continuation of the series was officially greenlit by HBO this past July and began principal photography in California this past November. While the original series had won eight Emmy Awards over the course of its three-season run, it was cancelled due to low ratings and high production costs. With the film scheduled to premiere in two months, fans will finally get closure on the lives and times of the frontiersmen of Deadwood, South Dakota.

Directed by Dan Minahan from a script by series creator David Milch, Deadwood stars Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Paula Malcomson, John Hawkes, Anna Gunn, Dayton Callie, Brad Dourif, Robin Weigert, William Sanderson, Kim Dickens, Jade Pettyjohn and Gerald McRaney. It is scheduled to premiere on HBO on May 31.
