After a spectacular opening weekend, "Deadpool" doesn't seem to be losing much heat as it moves into the week. Deadline reports that the film earned an estimated $11.5M on Tuesday. Those earnings are described as "breaths away" from the all-time record for a February Tuesday. The Rachel McAdams/Channing Tatum romance film "The Vow" holds the Tuesday record with $11.55 million, as that particular Tuesday was Valentine's Day. The race is so close that "Deadpool" could still overtake "The Vow" once Tuesday's box office is finalized.
The four-day figures for "Deadpool's" opening weekend, which includes Presidents' Day, are in: the film raked in $152.19 million. Box Office Mojo's stats reveal that "Deadpool's" Monday haul ($19.75M) were enough to get it in the all-time top ten list for Monday earnings.
The film already has a number of records to its name: it scored the biggest February opening of all-time, the biggest opening weekend in winter, and the biggest opening weekend for an R-rated film.
"Deadpool" is in theaters now.
