"Deadpool" Just Passed "Man of Steel" and "Iron Man" at the Box Office

"Deadpool" achieved a huge opening weekend and broke major records for February. As the film continues to do well at the box office, "Deadpool" is now climbing its way into other records, including top grossing comic book adaptations and top grossing superhero films.

"Deadpool" officially bumped "Iron Man" this weekend off the top 10 list of both comic book adaptation and superhero categories. That officially makes "Deadpool" more financially successful than "Iron Man," "Iron Man 2," "Man of Steel," "The Amazing Spider-Man," and "Captain America: Winter Soldier."

While the film's early success could have been equated with being released in the typically low-producing month of February, it's now clear that the film will be known for being as profitable as it's Marvel, DC, and Sony counterparts. None of Twentieth Century Fox's "X-Men" films have been able to cross the top 10 marker, until "Deadpool."

Currently "Deadpool" is sitting at a $328 million domiestic box office total. If it gains $5 million in the next few weeks, it will could claim the number 9 spot on both categories, officially unseating "Guardians of the Galaxy."

"Deadpool" is currently in theaters.
