Even though China banned "Deadpool" from entering its country's borders, the Merc with a Mouth has released a promo commemorating the upcoming Chinese New Year. The latest clip frames previously seen "Deadpool" footage with a new introduction, one that finds Ryan Reynolds' wisecracking merc wishing every a happy Year of the Monkey.

It was reported last month that "Deadpool" has been denied distribution in China -- which has more than 20,000 movie screens -- because of the film's depictions of violence, nudity and graphic language. China's censors often work with Hollywood studios to re-edit R-rated movies so they can meet with approval. However, THR's sources contended it wasn't possible for Fox to cut the objectionable material from "Deadpool" without creating plot problems. Fox declined to comment on the story.

Directed by Tim Miller, "Deadpool" stars Ryan Reynolds, T.J. Miller, Morena Baccarin and Brianna Hildebrand. The film will be released Feb. 12 in North America.
