Ryan Reynolds' Merc With a Mouth (and a cork hat) delivers a special Australia Day message in a new promo for "Deadpool."

"Seriously, I'd fit right in with your proud nation," he says, lapsing into an Australian accent, "with its shady criminal past and its predilection for blackout drinking and unrelenting condescension toward New Zealand."

However, there is that teeny matter of Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman.

"I've got no problems with Hugh," Deadpool explains. "I mean, he's a delightful guy, he really is; a true legend. But the movie, that was a career low for me. You understand."

Yes, we understand.

Directed by Tim Miller, the film also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller and Gina Carano. "Deadpool" opens Feb. 12 in North America.

Australia Day, meanwhile, is celebrated on Jan. 26.
