Deadpool Censors Fred Savage in New Once Upon a Deadpool Promo

In classic Deadpool fashion, the newest trailer for Once Upon a Deadpool flexes its hilarious sense of self-awareness in a promo where the Merc with a Mouth censors Fred Savage.

Savage was seen in the first trailer for the censored version of Deadpool 2, which is set to hit theaters December 12th. In this new promo, Savage lies in bed -- an obvious nod to Savage's role in The Princess Bride -- and asks Deadpool, "Why am I here?!" To that, Deadpool replies, "So I can read you the story of Deadpool 2 filtered through the prism of childlike innocence."

An angry Savage begins to take Deadpool down a familiar R-rated, profanity-laced path, before Deadpool corrects him. "What the f---?" Savage tries to say before Deadpool gently shushes him with a finger to the lips, saying, "The only F-bomb we're using around here is Fred Savage."

As the trailer says over a "Night Before Christmas" theme, the film is "safe for grandma and safe for children." The 30-second promo shows most of the fan-favorites from Deadpool 2, including Cable, Deadpool and the beloved Peter, though it's yet to be seen if X-Force's gruesome fate made the cut.

Proceeds from the movie will go to Fuck Cancer, operating under the temporary name Fudge Cancer, thus continuing the family-friendly movement for the film. There will be roughly 15 minutes of never-before-seen content in the edited version, which includes Savage taped to a bed and an old couple on a bench, who Deadpool acknowledges for their role in Up. Though Deadpool has seen enormous success after embracing its R-rated violence and graphic humor, the reinvention of Deadpool 2 could bring a number of those fans back to theaters to catch more jokes from the Merc with a Mouth.

Santa Deadpool sleds back into theaters on December 12.
