As part of Fox's rapidly expanding X-Men film franchise, "Deadpool" will tie in with the larger X-Movie-verse by including a few familiar faces. In addition to the return of Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, this time portraying a version of the character that's much more faithful than the one seen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "Deadpool" will see more action from the X-Man Colossus (Stefan Kapicic).
The other two stills feature Hildebrand's character and Gina Carano's super strong Angel Dust. Empire's write-up for the Negasonic Teenage Warhead pic also reveals that the character is wearing a New Mutants uniform -- not an X-Men one.
Reynolds also spoke about "Deadpool's" relationship to the rest of the X-Men films. "This film certainly works within the context of the X-Men universe, but it doesn't necessarily include the sensibilities of an X-Men movie. It's like taking an X-Men character, pumping him full of LSD and then releasing him back into the fold."
Directed by Tim Miller, "Deadpool" opens on February 12, 2016.
