A very dead X-Force member could be returning in Deadpool 3, with Shatterstar actor Lewis Tan teasing fans on Twitter with a cryptic message.Tan took to the social media platform on Nov. 25 to share a vague, emoji-filled message that hints at the return of his character for Deadpool 3. The tweet includes four emojis -- an alien, a pair of crossed swords, a skull and a piece of poop -- and the hashtag "#deadpool3." The actor played Rusty, an alien from Mojoworld also known as Shatterstar, in 2018's Deadpool 2. Tan's time in Fox's X-Men universe was brief, however, with Shatterstar and many of his fellow X-Force members meeting gruesome deaths in short order. Shatterstar in particular was liquefied by helicopter blades.Related: Ryan Reynolds Worked on a Deadpool Christmas Movie

That said, Tan's recent social media posts have fans speculating if the otherworldly mutant may be making an appearance in the upcoming MCU Deadpool threequel. Deadpool 2's post-credit scene showed Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool traveling back in time to correct some errors -- notably saving the life of X-Force member Peter, played by Rob Delaney. Notably, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is also returning in Deadpool 3, despite the character meeting his own demise in Fox's 2017 film Logan.

Could Deadpool 2's Shatterstar Come Back From the Dead?

In September, Reynolds posted an update on Deadpool's first appearance in the MCU and announced that Jackman's iconic mutant would be returning for the third installment of the R-rated franchise. Jackman made his last appearance as the gruff, Canadian X-Man in the aforementioned Logan, following appearances in all eight X-Men franchise films from 2000 to 2016. Although Wolverine died at the end of Logan, Reynolds and Jackman clarified that the dystopian solo film was set in 2029, giving them just under a decade to play with. Little else has been confirmed about the return of the short-tempered hero, but fans have been speculating on whether other fallen fan-favorites could be making a return to the big screen.
