Despite repeated attempts, Morena Baccarin has had no luck prying information about the fate of her character Vanessa in the upcoming Deadpool 3 film from co-star Ryan Reynolds.

"I hope I get to be in it," Baccarin told The Wrap. "I don't know. They're very, very annoyingly tight-lipped. I text Ryan [Reynolds] every six months, and I’m like 'What’s going on?' He’s like, 'Hey, how are you? How's your family?' I'm like, 'Not what I'm asking you!'"

The actor also joked about how she's kept in the dark by both Reynolds and her own lifestyle. "I know nothing, 'cause I’m usually the last to know," she said earlier in the interview. "I also live under a rock. I have three kids and you're telling me there's a director attached. I had no idea. I heard that, finally, today. I was like, 'Oh, that's cool!'"

Baccarin is referring to news that Shawn Levy has been tapped by Marvel Studios to direct the third Deadpool film. Levy already has history with Reynolds, as he directed 2oth Century Studios' Free Guy and Netflix's The Adam Project, which both star Reynolds. The news prompted Reynolds to celebrate with a tweet that read, "The third film in my Shawn Levy trilogy will be a tad more stabby."

If Levy gets his way, Vanessa might not be the only character from outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe to make an appearance in Deadpool 3. When discussing his plans for the film, Levy spoke about his strong desire to get Hugh Jackman, aka the X-Men film franchise's Wolverine, involved. "I'm not going to say where and how," the director promised, "but I absolutely will confirm my intention and determination to be the lucky son of a bitch who puts those two magnificent gods in the same movie together. That will happen and that will be me."

As for Vanessa, it remains to be seen if the breaking open of Marvel's multiverse in Spider-Man: No Way Home will allow room for her to return after being killed and revived in Deadpool 2. Whatever develops in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may play a role as well, with Sir Patrick Stewart's voice being heard in one of the trailers. Stewart, of course, played Professor X in the same franchise as Jackman's Wolverine.

Reynolds has largely played coy with updates about Deadpool 3 so far, but promises that more news is coming soon. "I'll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope," he said in reference to the threequel. "So I'll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road."

There is currently no release date for Deadpool 3.
