Deadpool 3 has gotten an update that features a lot of references to series star Ryan Reynolds's business ventures.

On Twitter, the official Deadpool account tweeted an update on the third film, which you can see below. In the caption, the update jokingly notes Deadpool 3 has already "nailed down brand integrations" and will soon move on to "story, character, and script." The image itself shows Peter (Rob Delaney) in the scene where the various members of X-Force were recruited. However, the image has been altered to contain references to a number of brands associated or owned by Reynolds, including Mint Mobile, Aviation Gin and Wrexham FC.

Reynolds first played Deadpool in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. While that movie was critically panned, Fox ended up going a completely different way with the character starting in 2016's Deadpool. The film stars Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, a mercenary who undergoes an experimental cure after being diagnosed with cancer. The cure awakens his mutant genes, giving him an incredibly powerful healing factor. Reynolds reprised his role for 2018's Deadpool 2. Both films were critically and commercially successful.

While Fox originally had plans for both a Deadpool 3 and a film centered on X-Force, Disney finished acquiring key assets from 21st Century Fox in 2019, giving the House of Mouse the rights to the X-Men, Fantastic Four and many other characters. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige later confirmed Deadpool 3 did, in fact, have a spot on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's release schedule. Earlier this year, Shawn Levy -- who worked with Reynolds on 2021's Free Guy and 2022's The Adam Project -- boarded Deadpool 3 as director. Reynolds has since confirmed Leslie Uggams, who played blind Al in both Deadpool films, will return for the third.

In 2021, Feige confirmed Deadpool 3 would be an R-rated movie. Former Disney CEO Bob Iger also indicated on several occasions Deadpool films would remain R-rated once the House of Mouse had control of the character.

Deadpool 3 does not have an official release date at the time of writing.
