Deadpool 3 will bring Leslie Uggams into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Love Boat and Roots actor shared her thoughts about The Adam Project on Twitter, praising the film and star Ryan Reynolds. "5 stars for this wonderful film! Deadpool pal Ryan Reynolds has done it again, exploring the father/son relationship as a timeless force. There's a lovely homage to Field of Dreams too," Uggams wrote in response to Reynolds sharing that The Adam Project is Netflix's number one movie. Reynolds then quote tweeted Uggams' post, adding, "Thank you, Leslie. See you soon."

At the end of her tweet, Uggams wrote, "Director Shawn Levy is now attached to the upcoming Deadpool 3, too. Should be great!" Free Guy director Shawn Levy is helming Deadpool 3, having also worked with Reynolds on The Adam Project. With Reynolds' response to Uggams, it's clear that she'll return for the upcoming sequel that will now be overseen by Marvel Studios.

Uggams played Blind Al in Deadpool and Deadpool 2, bringing to life the foul-mouthed supporting character from Wade Wilson's comic book run. No official casting announcements have been made for the third film yet, but it looks like Uggams will be at least one of the returning stars joining Reynolds in the MCU.

So far, it's unknown if Vanessa will be back for the sequel. Deadpool 2 saw the anti-hero use time travel to save his love interest, but star Morena Baccarin doesn't know if she's in Deadpool 3. "I hope I get to be in it," Baccarin recently said. "I don't know. They're very, very annoyingly tight-lipped. I text Ryan [Reynolds] every six months, and I’m like 'What’s going on?' He’s like, 'Hey, how are you? How's your family?' I'm like, 'Not what I'm asking you!'"

Similarly, Domino actor Zazie Beetz has been updated on if her character will come back in the sequel. She was the only survivor from the short-lived X-Force in Deadpool 2, so there's a chance she'll also return when the cast is announced.

After Disney purchased much of 20th Century Fox's assets, it was confirmed that an R-rated Deadpool 3 would be coming to the MCU. Reynolds has slowly teased that script work is coming along, and the addition of Levy as the director means things could begin moving forward soon. But as of now, Deadpool 3 still lacks a release date.
