WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Deadpool 2, in theaters now.

From Brad Pitt to Matt Damon to Green Lantern-era Ryan Reynolds, Fox's Deadpool 2 had plenty of surprise cameos, including a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance by much of the cast of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. But while the team was only on screen for a moment, during Deadpool's time at the Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters, it turns out that multiple versions of the scene were filmed.

Speaking to CinemaBlend, Evans Peters revealed his brief appearance as Quicksilver included alternate takes.

"We were shooting [X-Men: Dark Phoenix], and were like, 'OK, we're going to do a quick thing for Deadpool 2,'" he recalled. "And I was like, 'Oh, that's awesome!' I thought it was going to be at the end of the film, in the credits, like some sort of funny Easter egg thing. And we had a lot of different versions for when they open that door and turn to us. But the one they used was pretty chill, and was in the first half of the film, which I was like, 'Oh, Jesus, that's kind of weird.'

With a joke running over from director Tim Miller's Deadpool, Wade Wilson wonders where all the other X-Men are, and why the mansion is always so empty. As the camera turns to another room, eagle-eyed viewers glimpse Peters as Quicksilver, joined James McAvoy as Charles Xavier and Alexandra Shipp as Storm, before Nicholas Hoult's Beast slowly turns to close the doors on Deadpool.

Asked about these other versions, Peters refused to reveal what they entailed but did joke, "Ummm hmmm... not really sure I can say. There was some fun, dirty stuff." Whether these deleted scenes will make it onto Deadpool 2's home release remains to be seen.

Although the X-Men actors were a light-hearted, PG addition to Deadpool 2, Dark Phoenix writer/director Simon Kinberg is expected to tkae his film in a much more serious direction. That said, Fox has slowly brought the two fictional worlds together and even tried to retcon the controversial X-Men: Origins Wolverine in Deadpool 2's mid-credits scene.

In theaters now, director David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Julian Dennison as Russell and Josh Brolin as Cable.
