In case there's a hole in your life that only a very special friend can fill, then your search has come to an end: Deadpool wants to make some new friends, and you could be one of them. The Deadpool sequel's Twitter account has made it known the Merc With a Mouth is open to suggestions about which accounts to follow on the social-media platform.
"The one person I follow on Twitter says 'You can never have too many friends!'," the tweet reads, referring to the official Hello Kitty account. With a crudely scrawled note, "This could be you," Deadpool seems to signal some kind of contest to find new friends.
The off-kilter approach to marketing has become a staple of the Deadpool movies, and it's showing no signs of slowing down. With the hashtag #BeDeadpools2nd, all bets are off to see who will make the cut. Will it be Ryan Reynolds? Hugh Jackman? DC Comics? Or you? There's only one way to find out.
Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 features Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Julian Dennison in an unknown role, and Jack Kesy as a villain widely thought to be Black Tom Cassidy. The film hits theaters on May 18.
