Our first look at the Merc with a Mouth's upcoming sequel, while decidedly Deadpool in nature, was very much the epitome of a teaser, as it didn't give us a whole lot substance in terms of the actual film. However, the release of the first full-length trailer for Deadpool 2 is rapidly approaching, landing not only in conjunction with the release of Black Panther but potentially on a date that holds a very special place in Wade Wilson's heart.

According to Collider, the trailer will indeed air ahead of Black Panther screenings when the film hits theaters February 16. Additionally, the site contends that 20th Century Fox also plans to release the trailer online on Valentine's Day, coinciding with the two-year anniversary of Deadpool's opening weekend in 2016.

Originally slated for release on June 1, Deadpool 2 was bumped up two weeks by Fox in a series of shakeups that also saw Gambit delayed 6 months and The New Mutants delayed 10 months. Now, with just four months remaining until Deadpool 2 arrives, it certainly makes sense that Fox would want to get an official trailer into the ether as soon as possible.

The film hits theaters on May 18.
