The first teaser trailer for the Deadpool sequel dropped this morning, featuring a Bob Ross-esque Wade Wilson, countless sexual innuendos, and a quick montage from the film. While not much else was revealed -- it's a teaser, after all -- it became clear from the ludicrous synopsis that Deadpool 2 isn't going to be called Deadpool 2. Most likely.

According to Fox's "official" synopsis, the Merc with the Mouth's next adventure is currently being referred to in-house as the Untitled Deadpool Sequel, meaning that Ryan Reynolds & Co. are still probably figuring out the best possible cheeky title. Many already assumed Deadpool 2 was simply a placeholder until the film inched closer to its release date, which now appears to be correct, as it's been replaced with ... another placeholder.

Or! Would it really be surprising if the movie remained Untitled Deadpool Sequel? Meta-jokes are Wade Wilson's trademark, so in a way, Untitled Deadpool Sequel would be kind of fitting for series entry number two. Or maybe they'll end up sticking with classic, never-out-of-style Deadpool 2. Or maybe it will actually be a brand-new title.
