Before the nationwide release of Deadpool 2, director Simon Kinberg shared a photo of Ryan Reynolds trying on the Merc With a Mouth's red-and-black suit for the very first time.
Along with the photo, Kinberg posted this message to his Instagram account: "The first fitting for the suit way back when. @vancityreynolds @spanx @deadpoolmovie"
The suit Reynolds is wearing is a slimmed-down version of the one found in 2016's Deadpool and its sequel, Deadpool 2. Gone are the buckles, weapons and accessories, leaving only the red and black bodysuit with white eye slits. As far as staying loyal to Deadpool's comic book roots, the suit is a pretty good copy of the source material. Another difference is the red is a lot brighter in the photo than what's found on film, which is understandable. It's quite possible the costume went through some modifications from the initial fitting to the final product.
In theaters nationwide, director David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Julian Dennison as Russell, and Josh Brolin as Cable.
