In an interview for his upcoming film Terminator: Dark Fate, director Tim Miller shared his intended vision for a match-up between Juggernaut and Fantastic Four's the Thing in Deadpool 2. After revealing that he wanted the sequel to stay more "comic accurate," he explained his vision for this Fantastic Four crossover that never came to be.

To promote Dark Fate, Miller recently appeared on The Fourth Wall Podcast, where he had a conversation about what he wanted for Deadpool 2. Miller revealed he was greenlit to have "'The Thing throwing down with Juggernaut' in the film’s climactic action set-piece."

In addition to the epic fight scene, he also campaigned for a handful of other elements, like fleshing the Vanessa character out into a more well-rounded presence throughout.

Miller exited Deadpool 2 in late 2016, with Fox replacing him on the project with John Wick's David Leitch. The film was released in May 2018 to a fresh score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron, Terminator: Dark Fate stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta. The film opens Nov. 1.
