Today, "Deadpool 2" finally found its Cable in "Avengers: Infinity War" star Josh Brolin. Brolin, whose name was not part of the list of actors who were rumored to be up for the role, has been busy filming the next "Avengers" film for Marvel Studios, where he'll bring Thanos to life. Filming on that project is expected to continue throughout the remainder of the year, with Marvel filming the third and fourth "Avengers" films back-to-back, leading many fans to question whether or not this latest casting will affect Brolin's role as Thanos.

Fans concerned about Brolin playing two Marvel character simultaneously, though, need not worry; it's highly unlikely Brolin's gig as Cable will interfere with his work as Thanos. Of course, this didn't stop "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds from joking about it on Twitter:

The fuck, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch. pic.twitter.com/AQCRp1aWKg

As he did following reports that actress Zazie Beetz was cast as fan-favorite character Domino, Reynolds also confirmed Brolin's casting with the help of a playful image as seen above.

Cable debuted in 1986's “Uncanny X-Men” #201 as Nathan Summers, the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, a clone of the psychic Jean Grey. The character first appeared as an adult operating under the moniker of Cable in 1990's “New Mutants” #87. He’s known best as the leader of X-Force, which has also counted Domino and Deadpool among its members. The introduction of Cable and Domino in “Deadpool” 2 will help to pave the way for Fox’s planned “X-Force” film franchise.

Arriving in theaters in 2018, “Deadpool 2” will see the return of Ryan Reynolds, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand and Karan Soni, along with newcomer Zazie Beetz as Domino. The film is directed by “John Wick’s” David Leitch.
