New rumors have emerged suggesting that Deadpool 2 may have cut one of its main villains out the movie.

Jack Kesy was initially cast as an unknown character, which many speculated to be none other than Black Tom Cassidy -- a villain that can project energy through plant-based material such as planks of wood and staffs. However, online chatter has it that director David Leitch and company axed the character to make room for more Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Zazie Beetz).

“Jack Kesy, who’s gonna be the villain in Deadpool 2... I heard he got cut from the movie. Breaking news. So check that one out, guys," stated The Tracking Board's Jeff Sneider. "But yeah, I don’t know if we’re gonna be seeing Jack Kesy in Deadpool 2. We’ll see. I haven’t seen the movie, I haven’t talked to anyone who have seen the movie, but I’ve heard, someone chimed in after that poll and they were like ‘I don’t know if he’s still in it.'”

Given that we didn't see the villain in the trailers so far, this could hold credence, especially as it seems that Leitch is focusing on pitting Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool against Cable, who's hunting down the mystery mutant that Julian Dennison is playing. This would make the film quite interesting as Cable would then occupy a more antagonistic role against the Merc with a Mouth.

This may well spark Deadpool's need to assemble his X-Force team, and allow more screen time for Domino, which would certainly build towards a comic-faithful roster for the movie that Fox has planned with this covert ops team.

Debuting May 18, director David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Zazie Beetz as Domino and Josh Brolin as Cable.
