Deadpool. Cable. Domino. Colossus. Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Shatterstar.

...Peter?

The final trailer for Deadpool 2 shows us virtually every character of the explosive film in action. We see Cable deliver unstoppable punches, Negasonic flame up, Domino demonstrate her (very cinematic) luck powers, and Deadpool do what he does -- which is mainly break the fourth wall, swing his swords and get mutilated six ways to Sunday. On top of all that, we saw Wade put his ego aside and go into recruiting mode to find powerful allies in his fight against Cable.

After Wade finds a few solid team members for his X-Force, the trailer ends by introducing an unlikely recruit to the lethal squad: a mustachioed man named Peter, who appears to be played by Rob Delaney. Peter may not have any special powers of his own, but Deadpool is convinced he belongs. "You're in," he tells him, before the trailer cuts to an epic shot of Peter parachuting alongside the rest of the mutant strike team.

So, who is Peter? Well, we're betting he's Deadpool 2's answer to Hydra Bob.

In the comic books, Hydra Bob is one of Deadpool's few good friends. He works for the evil organization Hydra, sure, but Bob isn't really that much of a bad guy. He may not be all that formidable, or even competent, but he helps Wade out whenever he can. He's a part of Deadpool's extended cast and, whenever he's around, is the butt of innumerable jokes cracked by the Merc with a Mouth.

Hydra Bob's importance to the Deadpool mythos was underlined when the character made a brief cameo appearance in the first Deadpool movie. However, for legal reasons, Bob wasn't able to be affiliated with Hydra, whose movie rights belong to Marvel Studios. It would make sense, then, for the creative minds behind Deadpool 2 to have introduced a new character to fill Bob's shoes. The all-too-normal Peter may be the cinematic answer to the comic character, allowing Wade to develop a fun friendship with a normal human who just might prove to have a few tricks up his sleeve. After all, not anyone can look as awesome as Peter does when parachuting. Dude absolutely looks like he knows what he's doing.

At least, we hope he does. If there is one thing we're sure of, it's that Deadpool and his team are heading straight into danger. Either Peter will prove himself an invaluable asset in X-Force's mission, or he'll die an unbelievably gruesome, and likely hilarious, death that will leave the audience in stitches. Either option works, really. We only hope Peter has a functioning parachute, because otherwise he's in for a very, very messy landing. One that, we're certain, would come with a belated parachuting-safety warning delivered by Wade.

But if Peter survives, then we might be looking at the greatest addition to the X-Force roster -- ever.
